East Atlanta native Chase Shakur has had a hell of a 2023. Earlier this year, Chase inked a record deal with Def Jam Recordings (a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.). Shortly after the news of his signing, it was announced that he would soon be releasing his Def Jam debut, and it would be called “it’s not you, it’s me.”

Running Through The Summer is a “community-based album,” meaning it has creative direction, mixing, production, and features all from people who happen to be from none other than Colorado.

Since the project’s release, DNA has released multiple music videos and live-in-studio performances. A few days ago, his Grand Theft Auto-themed music video for his new song “Child’s Play” was released. The video was directed by GTA content creator “New Life Visuals,” and the song was produced by “Straight Up Beats.”

The Denver native Kilroy was always big on music and what was going on in the culture, even as a kid. Kilroy began his writing journey in 2015 for online publication SWIDLIFE. He moved on to write for Dope At Its Finest Magazine, surprising himself his first post got over 1000 views in just one day. He proved quickly that he was a natural with words and content so it only made sense he went on to become the co-editor-in-chief at Dope At Its Finest.
