OVO x Toronto Raptors x Mitchell & Ness Take It Back To Draft Day
Only a few brands get to collaborate with the NBA, let alone twice in the same year. Drake’s brand October’s Very Own, is teaming up with the Toronto Raptors and Mitchell & Ness to announce their new “Draft Day” collection to the world.
It is no secret that the artist Drake and the Toronto Raptors have been in business for a while now, especially considering that the team is located in the rapper's hometown. In 2013 Drake was officially appointed to be the team's Global Ambassador. Earlier today, it was announced that OVO, the Raptors, and Mitchell & Ness would drop a collection that would honor the Toronto Raptors' debut season as an NBA franchise. The team was founded in 1995 as part of the NBA's expansion in Canada, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies.

The pieces released in the collection include the 1995 Hardwood Classics Jerseys. One features the Purple/White away colorway, and the other features the White/Purple home colorway. Both jerseys have the number 6 and say “Know Yourself,” replacing where the player’s last name would go. The jerseys also have a patch on the OVO owl patch in the upper left corner. To top it off, right above Mitchell & Ness size tag, there is an OVO tag that says “2008-Forever October’s Very Own,”. For those who don’t know, Drake established his label Octobers Very Own in 2008. Other previewed pieces include a varsity jacket and hats. Modeling for the collection is nonother than Damon Stoudamire, who happens to be the Toronto Raptors’ first-ever draft pick. They selected Damon with their 7th pick in the 1995 NBA Draft.

Included in the collection is a varsity jacket with the Raptors logo and Octobers Very Own logo on the front and on the sleeves, a white and purple OVO cap, a black and purple tuque, a hoodie with the Raptor crunching the OVO owl, a black and purple sweater with the Raptor eating on the OVO logo, and a pair of purple shorts.
The Draft Day collection was released earlier today on OVO Stores, the OVO website, and the Mitchell & Ness website.
