From recording in a dorm room to recording in California, Keenan Trevon has come a long way since then. He has become known as the go-to person in Colorado when it comes to features and hooks. His style is unique; he raps and sings and does well at both. He also directs his videos as well. Keenan is a well-rounded artist and has the projects and tracks to back that up. With features from TheyCallHimAp, Trev Rich, DNA Picasso, he has a solid artistic resume. Check out my interview with KT below!

Q. The 2018 project “Tapped In” received really good reviews and had a lot of bangers such as “Down”, “A Song About You ( Drunk)”, and more would you consider that your coming out tape in a way?

Definitely! I dropped a mixtape in college but it was kind of all over the place. Tapped in was for sure my introduction!

Q. Lately you’ve been featured on lots songs with Trayce Chapman, AP, DNA and more. Who’s your favorite person to collaborate with in the city and why?

Yeah, those are my dawgs! They’re all dope. AP and Trayce took me under their wing off the rip. They genuinely believe in me and vice versa. AP is like a real big brother though, he’s sat me down and taught me some things about coming up in the city, protecting myself, etc. I look up to him in a lot of ways. His work ethic is unbelievable, to it’s so inspiring to see someone give all that they have to live out their dreams—real solid dude for real.

Q. You have the talent of being able to rap and sing, which do you consider yourself a rapper or a singer?

I’ve been having this debate for so long in my head, lol. I would call myself an artist, probably as cliche as that sounds. I don’t know which way to go because even though my most R&B tracks have some crazy flow, my hardest tracks have some melodies and singing to them. So yeah, I guess I’d say just a musician or artist. I do upload all my music as R&B/Soul, though.

Q. You started last year off with the release of “Favorite”, and See You”. What can we expect from you in 2021, and what are some goals you have for your career this year.

Yeah, man creating a Favorite was a whole lot of fun. Mix Coats ate that beat as well! My biggest goal is to be able to travel the world off of my music. Once I can do that, I feel like everything else will fall in line as it’s supposed to.

Q. A few years back you and your friends started a talented collective called “Ignant Mob” who’s all apart of the squad and can we expect a compilation tape from you guys?

Yessir! So in the gang, we have AC Yung and me as artists, LA Keys and YB on production, and eSHOTu on the Video/Photography. We don’t have enough artists for a collage album, but The boys and I could do an EP. Stay tuned for that!

Q. For a while you’ve had a clothing line in the works, what’s the name of your brand and when will you be releasing something to the public?

Yes! Lots of trial and error with the clothing lines. But I definitely have some stuff in the works!

Q. Who are some of your musical influences?

My most significant influence is probably Chris Brown. I grew up listening to nothing but him until the age of 12. Also, Bryson Tiller had a huge impact on me as well. And lastly, of course, Drake. His songwriting is still so elite to me—all fantastic artists.
