As summer comes to a close, the music world is buzzing with excitement for rising star Lil Poppa, whose journey from a local sensation in Jacksonville to a breakout artist is inspiring fans and artists alike. We had the chance to ask the CMG/Interscope Records artist a few questions regarding his newest singles and EP. Fans and attendees of the press conference were the first to hear Lil Poppa's latest single, “Start Trippin (Shawty Fine).” This track showcases a playful, pop-infused style, reflecting his versatility and willingness to explore a new sound. Bursting onto the scene at the young age of 14, he captivated listeners with a rich history of heartfelt lyrics woven into infectious melodies, showcasing a depth of emotion beyond his years. His breakout moment came in 2018 with the release of "Purple Hearts." This touching single not only showcased his unique voice, resonating with raw authenticity, but also caught the eye of major record labels, signaling the dawn of an exciting new chapter in his burgeoning career. Riding this wave of success, he signed with Interscope Records, a powerhouse in the music world, and secured a deal with Yo Gotti's CMG Music label. This label boasts an impressive roster that includes dynamic artists like Glorilla, Blac Youngsta, EST Gee, Moneybagg Yo, and many more, positioning Lil Poppa among some of the hottest talents in the industry. In his bold new album, "Almost Normal Again," Lil Poppa dives into challenging topics with remarkable authenticity. This 16-track collection, a follow up to his 2024 release "WEE ARE WHO WE ARE," offers a profound glimpse into his reflective journey as he navigates through memories, acknowledges sadness, and seeks inner peace. Though much of the album shares lessons learned from life on the streets, it also features tracks like "D.O.D" and "Start Trippin (Shawty Fine)" that are sure to get you moving. This album showcases a brilliant array of extraordinary talents including Yungeen Ace, Seddy Hendrix, ATG, Mozzy, T-Roll, and Eelmatic. Each artist brings their own unique flair to the project that promises to captivate your spirit and leave a lasting impression—an experience you won't want to miss!
