It has been years since Colorado native Kaleab Samuels ventured to Hollywood, California, to focus solely on his music career. He found himself in Colorado for the summer and was on a mission to make a new album with his hometown in mind. Kaleabannounced that he would be dropping a follow-up to his most recent album, “Running Through The Winter.” The upcoming project will be titled “Running Through The Summer” and is the third installment of the series as the first project, “Running Through The Fall,” was released last year. One of the main differences between this project and the previous ones in the series is the creative themes of each one. Running Through The Summer is a “community-based album,” meaning it has creative direction, mixing, production, and features all from people who happen to be from none other than Colorado.
Kaleabrecently released the cover and tracklist for “Running Through The Summer,” the album has an impressive collective of contributors. The project was mixed and engineered by Decolo, along with Reezy Keys, who provides vocals and production as well. Also featured is Dope At Its Finest own Chico Mcgee, 100 Pack Savy, DNA Picasso, Jonni Blvnts, Nasiya, Paige Savahn, DeEtta Jain, Estephanyart, and more! Colorado-based brands like Dream World by Omar Sekou Mitchell, HeartBoy by Crispyz, The Void, and Menaz Worldwide are also credited for their assistance with the creative direction of the album. Kaleab went out of his way to ensure he recorded every step of the journey for this album on film. He took all the moments captured on film and turned them into a documentary showcasing the album’s creative process. The documentary features clips of all the contributors mentioned earlier, as well as footage from the “Running Through The Summer” listening party.
